Signed up with Atomic after decades of dealing with multiple other ISPs. Never before has any ISP responded so quickly and always on point with expert knowledge, even on public holidays.

Connection performs very well and is very stable, but with this level of service you don't need to dread the day something goes wrong, it will get sorted asap.

By far the most advanced ISP for fibre provision. The team behind Atomic Access is exceptional and super hands-on. The network is the fastest by far, especially latency. They take exceptional care of their users especially gamers. The staff are accessible. Did I mention an IPv6 ready network that just works?

Atomic is always trying to improve their network and do the best, and their customer support is awesome.

TLDR; The CTO is condescending and arrogant and should not be customer-facing. Luckily this does not extend to the other founders and staff at Atomic Access.

I would like to sing the praises of Stewart Cousins from Atomic Access in Cape Town South Africa. I switched to Atomic Access recently and I have had the most professional, kind and helpful assistance from Stewart way beyond the call of duty! Before I switched to Atomic Access, I had so many problems with internet access. Stewart started off the customer journey with a call to make sure all the requirements were well understood and offered great advice to find the right solution. Stewart has not only communicated continuously about every aspect of the switch over to Atomic access, but has gone the extra mile to help me troubleshoot the issues that were plaguing me for so long. The mesh network that was set up around the house/office was configured, the firmware of the routers were upgraded (on site and later remotely - late on a Fri evening), the issues I had with connectivity were debugged and potential solutions, hardware and assistance were provided until the best solution was found. WOW what a breath of fresh air compared to the support offered by the other large ISPs in South Africa!!! It's just the start of the journey, but what a difference your support, assistance, advice and service has made during this transition to Atomic Access and the resolution of the issues that plagued me for so long! Switching to Atomic Access is, so far, one of the best decisions I’ve made in 2024.

For context, I’ve been with Vox for the past 3 years. Unfortunately, they’ve forgotten what it means to be a well-rounded consumer ISP. I cannot fault them on the basic internet. It worked. Why wouldn’t it? But – everything else was seriously lacking. Support was slow and my I felt that their team was either inexperienced or poorly trained. CGNAT was a problem. Multiple support calls later, I get sold an “add on” (billed monthly) to get a public IP assigned. Static IP? A few calls from their support team ends in the ticket being closed with no resolution. IPv6? Forget it. They don’t know what that is.

Atomic Access is the perfect size, where they have the scale to invest in technology to their customer’s benefit, while not being so big that you lose that personal touch. For example, Vumatel messed up my migration. Their operations manager personally updated me daily on progress, offered insight into the root cause of the problem and persisted until I was connected. A frustrating experience made so much more bearable through good customer service.

Static IP? I host my own small personal web server, and some small game servers for my friends. It was actioned in a matter of hours, and I only had to ask once. They knew what I wanted, and had the systems to action it.

IPv6? They’re one of the few local ISPs that prioritise being ready for switchover. And the support experience? I logged a ticket at 6pm. It was actioned at 7pm, and I was able to configure my router that same night.

Gaming? It’s like night and day. I didn’t expect a huge improvement, but somehow my “cross continent” latency dropped measurably for games. Stability is also significantly better, with almost no packet loss during long sessions. Also, because Atomic doesn’t implement CGNAT, my “NAT type” in P2P games like Destiny 2 is now “open” and I get matches much faster.

Overall stability? I have failover configured, so log when my internet drops. I got used to my logs showing many sporadic outages every month. In the past month, I can see only one brief outage for less than 30 seconds in the early hours of the morning. That, with my personal experience, tells me all I need to know about network stability with Atomic.

Price? I’m paying about R200 p/m less than I did with Vox for the “same” line. Quotes are because it’s definitely not the same line anymore. Considerably more value, for less.

I strongly recommend switching to Atomic if you value an ISP that cares about providing a personalised service and a network that is robust and effective for gaming, as well as some more technical pursuits. From your website, “friends don't let friends use average internet”. Expect quite a few referrals. 😊

If you have a problem (and that's not common) you get to speak to an actual person who knows what they are talking about. You don't get the usual "I'll escalate it".

Moving to a new place where previous tenant used Web Africa was a nightmare. I had initially planned to switch over month end but the service was so awful I called Atomic right away. Web Africa made it incredibly difficult, refusing to migrate the line. Atomic Access handled everything, getting sorted in no time and sent a preconfigured router that literally was plug and play. The ease of access, the friendliness, everything about the experience is 11/10

Simply the best ISP in the Cape, have been with many before but none can top their services and support. Wouldn't recommend any other Fibre ISP. If your not with Atomic you truly are wasting your time.

I've been through quite a few isp's since 2006 till present and these guys are literally by far the absolute best service I have ever received. I had an issue with Octotel and Atomic Access took responsibility for something that was completely out of their control just to make sure I was happy. They even assigned their CEO to my case to resolve, he called me and kept me up to speed every step of the way until issue was completely resolved. I don't care how much more they cost per month compared to cheaper options as far as I'm concerned customer service like what I got should cost way more than my monthly bill especially in South Africa where majority of companies don't really care about their customers. I would 100% recommend Atomic Access to everyone starting with these reviews, my family and friends, and, because I work in IT trade, to every customer I interact with that needs Fibre connectivity. Don't get me started on how stable the Fibre service is. Uncapped data is truly unshaped and we get full speed the whole day provided no loadshedding. A++ service

I have been with Atomic Access since they started and I couldn't be happier. Their dedication to service and care is unmatched.

Their systems are always running during loadshedding, so I don't face any down-time.

It's really great having peace of mind knowing that whenever I sit down to work, my internet connection is going to be properly running.

Amazing staff, amazing service and a sturdy, reliable and extremely secure network. People you can trust and always rely on to help you out and extend empathy + understanding which is extremely rare nowadays sadly.

Vumatel and AA are the only places that offer an actual ~99.50% SLA compared to previous FNO's and ISP's I've been with which I won't mention, these previous competitors implemented a half-baked "best-effort" SLA which meant 0 support, accounts were often in disarray, wasn't even connected once for migration which took over 3 months (!), yet it took an engineer on-site 5 mins and a phone call to get it up and running. I've never had any of these issues with AA and their comms are always excellent.

We have been with Atomic for almost a year. We never experience any issues. Our speed is always great!! The service is prompt & clear. We highly recommend Atomic.

I was hunting for an ISP with the best support and lowest ping to Europe. When I needed them the most Joe and the team resolved all issues and got me up and running far quicker than I thought they would and considering it was a public holiday and we just started the new year!

We are very satisfied with Atomic Access and highly recommend them. They offer an outstanding service, with a quick response time, customised solutions and individual attention. We have been very pleased with our decision to move to Atomic for our fibre network.

Once again a sublime customer service experience with Atomic access. direct contact with the business no horrible WhatsApp or call center waiting times. My Octotel line got broken within 1 hour of contacting Atomic. Octotel were calling me to arrange a technician to come down. Hands down the BEST ISP in CAPE TOWN!
