ARC Consultants were fantastic from the first phone call. Alaur is friendly, easy to talk to and really cares about his work. The price quoted for our Level 2 Homebuyers survey was really reasonable, and Alaur's manner instantly put us at ease as we knew we were in good hands.
We were able to raise any things we were particularly worried about and stay in touch with Alaur throughout.
What we did not expect was just how fantastic the survey was. The attention to detail was incredible, and Alaur spent a long time on the phone talking us through each item on the report, answering questions and giving us insight that we just could not have got elsewhere.

The process of finding a surveyor to undertake our homebuyers survey was overwhelming! Luckily we came across Alaur at ARC Consultants Ltd. Alaur's communication from the start was excellent. I found ARC Consultants online after extensive research for their Homebuyer (Level 2) survey, and being a first-time buyer, I wasn't sure what to expect. I am so glad I chose them. Since I had no prior knowledge of the process, their support was invaluable.
Alaur at ARC Consultant got in touch just 1 day after my initial query. He walked me through the entire process in great detail and booked me in for their earliest slot two weeks later. I really appreciated that they followed up via email to ask if I had any specific concerns about the property beforehand.
On the day of the survey, I received a phone call immediately after completion (a Teams video call was also offered). Alaur went through all my concerns and explained the findings thoroughly. Day after, I received the full report—over 100 pages including detailed images.
As a first-time buyer, I found Alaur to be incredibly supportive and patient with my lack of experience. He didn't just list problems; he talked me through the findings and even gave me pointers on how to maintain the property once I move in. I had a lot of questions, and they answered every single one. If, like me, you have come to Trustpilot to check you've picked the right surveying company, look no further.

Firstly, ARC were the ONLY company who didn't incessantly hound my phone trying to get me to sign up. Massive GREEN flag. I got a wonderful email from Alaur, explaining what he does, what I'd receive and what the cost would be. What he did not make clear was just how far above and beyond he would go.

Alaur spent well over an hour just explaining to me what things meant in a Level 2 survey request. His confidence and evident knowledge set us at such ease, that we knew wherever we purchased - we would be hiring him. We spoke about the house we'd initially looked to buy, with his advice in part the reason we did not got ahead. This was BEFORE we'd instructed him, or paid a penny. Alaur seemed to just respond to our lack-of-knowledge with support like a Father. He identified red flags before we even got to instructing a solicitor and likely saved us hundreds if not thousands of pounds with no guarantee of a contract with us. He simply gave advice.

The house we have gone with, which is a beautiful place in South Derbyshire, was out of his catchment. However, he very kindly agreed to visit and complete the survey and charged us only a minimal contribution to his fuel. We received a phone call immediately afterwards with the "green light", he spoke through what he'd found and what his professional assessment was. Within 24 hours, we had the full report. It was detailed to an incredible level, highlighting in a traffic light system issues needing prompt attention to areas which had been assessed, and were of no concern. There was ongoing advice about house maintenance and care which we did not expect and will be utterly invaluable.

The support did not stop there. Alaur read and re-drafted various correspondence between us and the vendor to highlight areas which needed re-negotiation. He checked in to see how things were, and offered follow up videocalls if we had questions about the report in the future. See what I mean? OVER and ABOVE.

We are first time buyers, in a world entirely alien to us. Alaur made this part of the journey easy, smooth and understandable without making us feel like we were being stupid for asking millions of questions. He has been an incredible support and guide and we truly hope that this review gives you the confidence to reach out to him.
