I just opened my account at the Palms…

I just opened my account at the Palms Branch after weeks of struggle really. I had a lovely experience at the bank. Lovely women from China, staff member yes who helped me open the account. We had a great chat, she was super nice. Her name is Catherine by the way. Thumbs up to her. (Ping-ping)

I recently had to activate Power of Attorney for my 99 year old mother. This meant dealing with her money, among other things. I dealt with Gaurav Sehgal from Takanini Branch. He was excellent. Caring, thoughtful, thorough in his explanations, competent, respectful and only too happy to help throughout the navigating of this new experience for me. I cannot write highly enough of this man and his professional and dedicated approach to his clients. Thank you Gaurav

Internet banking down 2 weeks

Internet banking down 2 weeks, told to use library computers , A company of this size should not exist with such a poor attitude ,tellers should take over if their system is down or being worked on ,lodged a formal complaint to the banking onbudsman

Customer Service is gone...

Been to Auckland North Shore bank twice now helping my parents. This has to be the most inconsiderate useless place I have walked into. Trying to make a phone appointment is frustrating and time consuming, surely a well planned bank policy to make you give up... I find the staff arrogant/ignorant and will do minimal help to make the best use of savings and deposits. I personally use a different bank because of these kind of actions...

Fantastic support

Fantastic support. Friendly and proactive staff that got straight onto fraud detection and stopped money leaving my account. Glad I’m with ANZ and won’t go anywhere else for banking.

ANZ allowed fraud on my account

ANZ allowed fraud on my account. A company had an old cancelled credit card number but still managed to charge my new card (with a different card number) despite not having that new card number.
ANZ have redirected the charge to my new card without consent. This is allowing fraud. Shame on ANZ. This is going to the banking ombudsman

Worst experience I’ve ever had I had…

Worst experience I’ve ever had I had all my information my customer number, name, address, phone numbers, addresses, last transactions, yet they still treated me like a scammer because of a voice authentication that I set up 5 years ago they refused to help me solely because of the voice authentication they made me out to be a criminal 40minites back and forth with some Indian cnt who refused to accept my information.

36yrs and endless lies ridiculous charges for an overdraft i didnt want that this stupid bank keeps allowing and penalising me. NOW I CANT US ONLINE BANKING CHRISTMAS frigin EVE U TRUELY R THE WORST BANK.

Don’t swop to ANZ

All we needed to do is fix our mortgage, but over 3 hours of waiting on the phone and still no response. To maximise profits ANZ have got rid of their ‘Customer Service’ staff and most of their branches. I recommend you keep well away. I tried the same exercise calling the CoOperative banks mortgage helpline, and 5 mins later they called me back, with great Customer Service.

Poor bank account opening process

I arrived to New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa programme on October 17 and wanted to start a process of opening a bank account. At the time, I was house-sitting for this purpose only as I anticipated that the bank will need a proof of address to open an account. Long story short, I submitted everything online and prepared a Letter from the Host (house owner) just in case ANZ asks for it during a branch visit. It took 3 weeks for them to process an online application (during which time I visited a branch nearby and called to ask if everything is okay with my application), only for them to offer an appointment to finally open a bank account on the 1st of January 2026. They also completely ignored my ask for a particular branch location as I already had a job lined up and had to start making my way to the South Island. I would not recommend this to anyone, in the end I opened a bank account with Kiwibank in one day.

Do better, train better, provide actual help in a timely manner!!

40mins to be able to talk to someone, to just be told they cant do what I asked and I needed to call again on the day of maturity. This is despite their letter saying that they needed to know any changes 2 days prior to maturity. Just told "cant do" rather than trying to find a solution for me. I ended up finding my own solution and now they have lost my investment.
But yay they have spent their time introducing a new pick your own music to listen to whilst you waste mins waiting for them to answer. How about we will keep your place in the queue and call you back?
Shit customer service do better ANZ and train your staff to be solution focused.
