Not responsive to a frustrating experience with them… my husband lost 20 lbs but when he had his expensive monthly 15 minute connection with one of their doctors explaining that he hadn’t lost the belly fat that he had hoped for, the doctor just told him that he could order more expensive supplements. Overpriced program with overpriced supplements! Very disappointing!

AlternaCare is the biggest scam in healthcare I've ever experienced. I was interested in the program based on the owner's testimony about his own failing health and recovery. I booked the appointment online and on the day of the appointment was contacted by a man named Brian who identified himself as a case manager. He told me a great story about the services they offer at the low price of $2114 which included two comprehensive health tests; a health assessment, analysis and 90-day comprehensive personal health plan; and five visits with an MD. He explained that after the first visit with the MD, I would be provided with a list of recommended supplements and food plan to address my health concerns. I was hopeful that this program would finally be the solution i have been seeking for years. However, my hope became disappointment when I received my plan and a follow-up call from Brian to "close" the deal. The recommended supplements, AlrernaCare's own proprietary blends not available anywhere else, would cost me nearly $4000 for this 90-day program. I was shocked to say the least. I don't have $4000 to spend on supplements, but of course Brian encouraged me to use my CareCredit account to pay for them, an account he encouraged me to open during our first meeting to pay for the tests. I immediately became very aware that AlternaCare's program had everything to do with making money and little to do with helping those in need overcome their health challenges and concerns. If you have this kind of money to pay out of pocket for a program like this, go for it. However, I urge you to be very cautious as you move forward and document your results, if you have any, during and after you complete this program. Now I'm stuck. I have a personalized health plan; but I'm unable to complete it as I can't afford $4000 for supplements which I can't substitute with other less expensive options AND I'm obligated to pay for the initial $2114 fee for the initial tests and doctor's visits that I won't be able to use without the tools to complete the 90 day program that I charged on my CareCredit account.

I believe AlternaCare uses deceptive marketing practices to lure people in to get them to sign up for the 90 day program without providing them with the whole truth about the horrific and unreasonable costs that follow the initial doctor's consultation. They don't tell you that you will be required to use their proprietary blend supplements to receive the results they promise nor do they tell you about the embellished costs of the supplements. I hope this review saves people money and the disappointment that will follow for not being able to afford the cost of the supplements and achieve the optimal health promised.

Everything started out fine until it wasn't. I was dealing with "Illiana" and her assistant "Andrea" working with "Dr. Bobby Curtis" and I feel like all they did was took our money and left us hanging. Between me, my mom and my daughter they have gotten us for over $7200 and now no one answers the phone or the receptionist "Sarah" keeps telling me they want to talk to me but won't call me back. I have told them that I would like a refund and cancel the program after they tried getting another $4000 out of my mom for supplements. They pretend to care and then you never anything else from them. SCAM!!!! Beware and keep your money. Find somewhere else to go. I work hard for my money and thought they were genuine about helping us, but seems like they are only in it for the commissions. They also took money out a week ago for labs and say they would put the order up on the portal to go get it done that day and still nothing. When you call you can't get anyone.

08/31/26 - Alternacare responded quickly to my original post and have reduced my balance to zero; for that I am very grateful. I was not trying to disparage Alternacare but rather caution people to get costs or accurate estimates before agreeing to any charges. Confirm prices with labs before the tests are done. Alternacare will provide a lab order with CPT codes. Pay for services as they are done, not the entire program all at once. Use the Alternacare patient portal for the account statement. When we need a repair to our house or car, we get estimates. We need to do the same thing when it concerns our health.

Alternacare may be a legitimate business concerning holistic health. They are not trustworthy with the costs of the program. There is no such thing as a "Good Faith Estimate" as required by all health professionals. They will not give you an estimate of costs, only a total cost, and not a per item charge unless you ask for it. If they order lab work for you, verify with the lab what the cost is. Alternacare charged me more than the labs charged them. I'm not saying don't use their program. I AM saying, know exactly what you will be charged for and only pay for the labs and 1 consultation phone call to get the price of the supplements they say you will need. My supplements were going to cost $3,445.56, on top of the $2,649 cost for the program. I'm fighting to get some of the $2,649 back.
