My documented experience with ALT’s valuations and account restrictions
This review describes my personal experience with ALT as of September 1, 2026. The Stafford auction discussed below remains active.
ALT initially estimated my 2009 Score Signed Matthew Stafford #371 BGS Authenticated Rookie Autograph, Auto 10 at $172–$253, with $230 displayed as the most likely value.
After ALT received the card and placed it into a no-reserve auction, the estimate displayed beside the active auction fell to approximately $51–$53, with a displayed range of approximately $35–$78.
I retained records showing two sales of comparable authenticated Auto 10 copies. One sold at an eBay auction for $208.50 on June 17, 2026, after 15 bids. Another sales record is marked sold for $350 on August 23, 2026.
I contacted ALT several times while the auction was active. I provided screenshots, identified these sales, requested the comparable sales and methodology supporting ALT’s estimate, and asked ALT to confirm that its system correctly recognized the authenticated rookie autograph and Auto 10. As of the date of this review, I have not received a substantive explanation and the estimate remains publicly displayed.
Because the estimate appears directly beside the auction, I was concerned that prospective bidders might treat it as valuation guidance. I communicated that concern to ALT before posting this review.
I also experienced an account restriction after making an approximately $100 ACH purchase. Although my ALT account displayed a cash balance exceeding $1,000, I was unable to withdraw it for several days. ALT attributed the restriction to a Stripe rule and access was restored after several business days.
Based on these experiences, I am not comfortable using ALT’s valuation, cash-advance, or auction services again. I found the differences among the original estimate, subsequent auction estimate, and documented sales difficult to reconcile. I was also dissatisfied with the response to my time-sensitive questions while ALT controlled the active auction.
I have retained screenshots of the estimates and auction, the sales records, delivery confirmation, and my correspondence with ALT. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Customers considering ALT should independently verify valuations, understand the conditions attached to cash advances and account activity, and recognize that ALT controls the card and auction process after intake. This review reflects only my own documented experience and conclusions.
