I have had a business account with Alpha Bank in Cyprus for 15 years. The charges are now completely ridiculous, and their online system is a joke. it normally takes me 6-20 attempts to get into the system - this has been the case since they implemented the push notifications. Sometimes the initial logon screen wont display, and other times the logon screen comes up but then the next screen times out - a total joke and it drives me insane. I have a good internet connection and have used various different devices - they all have the same problem. In addition it is impossible to work out how to transfer money online to another bank - even the people in the bank don't know how to do it. Alpha get your act together!

Tried for nearly 1h to open an account but the app is very buggy and customer service unoolite and unhelpful. They close your contact while you are speaking. Amazing

I had taken mortgage from Alpha bank branch in Greece. They are completely fraudulent. There is no transparency and I have to frequently contact them to get clarity. Their manager Markela Yiannakoudaki is also pathetic. I will never recommend anyone to use their services.

I had the misfortune to have to deal with this bank because the people I was selling my property to had applied for a mortgage with them. The lies, the endless delays, bureaucracy, never answering the phone at the branch ended up costing me thousands. Hopefully when the next financial crisis comes in Greece establishments like this will be refused any handouts and go out of business to save anymore poor souls the heartache I've been put through for 6 months.

Worse bank. I did cashwithdrawal at atm first day of my holiday on crete. I did get my money but not my card back for no reason. I have to block my card. I have been in many countries all over the world but this is ridiculous. Not any service of this bank at all.

I dealt with Alpha Bank Cyprus. I have a mortgage with them. There is no transparancy in the way they sent you the information about your account. I have to contact them all the time to get more clarification or quite simply they practice information retention. Last year, during Covid lockdown time, Cyprus government decided to freeze the house loans for one year, at the end of the term, i received statement with showed all back dated interest. So only the installment were frozen not the interests to pay. They never sent me the information. they never informed me how the scheme worked. Especially for a mortgage or loan please NEVER EVER deal with them. They are terrible. I contacted their so called quality service, which says quite boldly there was no wrong doing from their part.
Now i tried to get a solution with my non performing mortgage, and arrears department only offer to restructure, which was already done in the past.
update 2022, now i have been able to sell the property. But they practised lack of transparency until the end. Once they received the money they were very slow to send me the final statement as a proof all have been paid.
I had to insist to get it or they would probably never have sent me one.
and they never apologised. all about money, no people consideration.

Bank for fraudsters. Like many banks I am sure, this bank has unlawful businesses behind some accounts. However, I proactively approached this bank and demonstrated with print screens and a police enquiry that this was happening. I brought all this to their attention, and to the fact that by default, and not doing their due diligence and auditing, they were complicit with unlawful businesses which were scamming people all over the world. I asked for my money back, which having reached them by SWIFT SEPA is customary to return. They dismissed me in the most rude of manners.

Don't even consider them unless you're up a complete breakdown - they'll take the clothes off your back.

As with most Greek banks, you'll stumble upon mostly rude and improperly trained staff, with very few exceptions. Their web banking experience is one of the worst in the country. For example, they think it's a great security and convenience feature to be enforcing customers to use very short lived OTPs even for logins without them having the option to disable that or choose another option.

Badest Bank ever !!!! I take Money from the ATM and forget my card at the ATM, at the next day i go there and they said to me that my card is there but they can not give it to me. My Bank account etc is all ok it was only the time left to get my card so it get into the ATM. It was not possible to become my card back. I was at tourist in Greece and it was not simple to become money any more. So this is a warning for everyone! Don't get money or anything from this bank !!!!!!

I have visited one of the branches of Alpha bank in order to open a current account for myself and requested e-banking also to be opened in order not to have to visit bank ank make my payments online due to pandemic. I have been informed before that I "had to make a deposit of 38€ in order account to be opened!" I knew that before as I made a search bank pricelist stated that 8€ was for e-banking fee but it was weird why did I have to deposit 30 euros more was unclear even though I have asked again I got response that "it is required for opening account".I opened account and deposited 38 euros but It was too weird for me after that I withdrew the money and deposited after some days passed. I have received then from AXA insurance which is partner insurance company of Alpha bank that I owe 30€ to pay for them as my account balance was insufficient to cover ALPHA FEEL SAFE insurance program. As I checked my account is already charged then 30Euros which was without my knowledge as the employer made the insurance without any prior explanation to me and I have never got any documents before for the insurance I had to bother with insurance company for contract termination as I only had 15 days left by the law left from beginning of insurance contract. Finally I have achieved to terminate the contract but I heard many other friends and neighbours who visited the bank they have been charged by the same way that it is required to have them account opened making you feel that is like obligated by the law and it isn't something if you prefer to.
