Just works perfectly - makes such a difference

Firstly, the first order I made didn't arrive because of some trouble with my DHL person. So I contacted Akara-Labs, and they sent a second unit to me right away. They knew of the problems with the German postal service. When it arrived, it worked perfectly, and I coded my lenses all at once. It was nice that the package contained a list with the corresponding Leica and Voigtländer or Zeiss lenses.
The one flaw I might have discovered for me is, that now that I have coded my lenses, the tool is mostly useless. I mean, I probably need to do it again in the future, but for now, it's just collecting dust on my desk.

But it's a well-made tool, and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to use its third-party lenses without having to change the lenses in the camera all the time.

The lens coder worked very well, my Leica M240 and M262 read my now 6-bit coded lens perfectly. The only problem was the black pen provided did not fit into the stencil cut-out and eventually the pen tip became useless.

Arrived quickly and worked like a charm -especially with my Voigtlanders. My Leica 50mm Summicron worked great at first but needs to be reapplied as the marks wore off due to the flat mounting surface -which is to be expected. I originally purchased this to keep better track of exif data and to benefit from built in lens profiles in the M10. However, I recently set the M10 to 1/4f to keep the shutter speed up while shooting and the 6 bit coding makes this doable when changing lenses multiple times/day -cool!

The Amara Labs 6Bit coder is exactly as advertised. My 3 Voigtlander lenses are now coded and this makes my photography experience so much better. Once the code is applied by the proper black ink marker, my Leica was able to recognize the lens. Great product.

The black pen is not thin enough making it difficult to pen it . However, the white pen is fine .

A product that works well in itself – a great idea. Fast delivery, even to Germany! Unfortunately, the marking does not last very long and often has to be renewed. You may have to apply a clear varnish. I haven't tested it yet.

This modestly priced device worked as advertised ! I successfully, and easily encoded a sweet 90mm 2.8 Tele-Elmarit M lens. (It is important that you pay attention to the clear and complete video and written instructions)

Works perfectly with the good pen. Had to pay extra tax when it arrived in France. But still worth the money for my 4 non Leica lenses.

Order came quickly considering it came from Europe to North America. I was missing an item which was quickly resolved. Thank you again!

Despite having problems with postal services, Akara Labs remained considerate and polite and sent me a replacement for the lost item at no extra cost.
Communication is easy with this company.
In case you need to ID your Leica M lenses, Akara Labs has a cheap solution. I recommend strongly.

for future I would like to see a metal version plus proper grinder bit for hand tool (Moto tool) to make pits that will be marked permanently. I am considering a free hand pit now that the location is marked and checked in camera.
