I invested in Agroforestry Group several years ago based on their promises of professional management and clear timelines. Unfortunately, communication has become extremely poor, and getting basic updates is increasingly difficult.

Recent explanations for delays were never mentioned in earlier correspondence, and important information is only shared after long periods of silence. Despite reaching out multiple times, I am still waiting for a response to straightforward questions and feel completely left in the dark.

For a long-term agricultural investment, transparency and regular communication are essential — and right now, that is lacking. I hope the company improves its responsiveness, but potential investors should be aware of these issues before committing.

i invested 5 years ago and no returns yet until next 2 years if i understood well and trying to get a confirmation which i cannot get. tried to contact the management company to clarify about my contract but nobody seems to be able to explain because only finance dept. is available. left my contact number but only got a respond email to fill out a request form.

From day one, AFG has been great to deal with and I am excited about the future.

Two of my favorite things in the world are durian and agarwood.
When I heard about Agroforestry group, I was excited to invest in something that I believe in. I was concerned though, because both industries are rife with scams. I was certainly hesitant to wire money to another country and wait several years to see either a return or to find out the whole thing never existed.

They seemed legit, so I invested, warily, starting slowly. They really encourage investors to come visit the plantation, and they even help with the cost of getting there. We went out there and found Agroforestry group to be not only real, but quite a great company. They really know their business and seem to care about the local farming community, the earth, and the bottom line. For example, they are rehabilitating lands that have been degraded by palm oil plantations and using innovative organic methods to bring life back to the soil. They also implement AI and other tech to monitor soil conditions and individual tree health and so that you can stay connected to your trees.

We found James to be quite passionate and knowledgeable about every level of the industries of both agarwood and durian. Robert has always been very helpful and great to deal with.

While every investment carries risk, I feel confident partnering with Agroforestry group. They seem to have considered every angle, from the science of the care of the trees, to the security of valuable crops, to the careful processing and most advantageous distribution of the end products.
My family and I enjoy this kind of investment where you can literally watch your living investment grow and feed people while providing a decent financial return. I was quite skeptical at first, and concerned about many aspects of this investment, but having visited and met some of the people involved in the operation I now feel excited about continuing to work and grow with this group for many years to come.

I’ve been in contact and Buisness with James for approximately 5 and a half yrs now,and when we had a visit to Johor and our stay at a beautiful hotel in KL,the care and time take to show my wife and me around the plantation was absolutely superb,I cannot fault anything.We we’re looked after like royalty,our every need was catered for.James took time to go over everything concerning my interests and my investments of both the Durian and agarwood trees!

Plantation trip was well organized, great direct face to face contact with Agroforestry. Detailed and interesting explanations of how, what and when. They clearly know there business and the way they talk about it shows they do it with great pleasure. No regrets, only a confirmation it was the right choice to do business with them.

I first bought 10 durian trees in 2018 and visited the plantation for the first time in 2019 when I saw my investment as young saplings. I then encouraged my daughters to invest in 250 agarwood trees.

I visited again today (12/2/23) where James Blake showed me both the durian and agarwood trees. I am happy to report that all are growing well and as expected.

James and his team at AFG are doing a great job and looking after their clients' interests.

I look forward to visit again at harvest time.

The investments
Fascinating investments that allow the investor to learn more about the agroforestry world.

AFG offer ethical and secure investments in a variety of tree species. Different trees have different models for return (depending on whether the tree is fruit yielding or planted for harvesting).

The security comes in a number of ways. Firstly, the land is transferred into the investor's name. Secondly, the contract sets out terms whereby AFG agree to manage and maintain the trees in return for a % of the return (both parties benefit). Thirdly, the trees are indemnified in the contract. In other words, the tree an investor owns will be replaced should the tree be damaged by fire/flood/pests etc.

The returns are sound and the predicted returns are quoted using conservative estimates, based on lower end prices.

The people
The folks working at AFG are great: professional yet friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging but not pushy. A big shout out to James Blake, a true gentleman with the highest degree of integrity.

I can confirm, I've received all intercrop payments so far.

Drove to Johor from Singapore to see Agroforestry Groups Musang King durian plantation last weekend before I decided to invest. I am impressed how nice and professional it is. It looks very different than normal plantations which are very spread out and look old. Can see the difference as soon as you drive by and compare. It is my first time owning something real plus I can go visit and see it anytime I want which makes me feel comfortable. I believe this will do very well because Musang King can be sold very easily in Singapore with our prices increasing ever year. Recommend everyone to drive up and see it if your concerned.
