Incompetents posing as financiers.
This financial service is wholly UNRELIABLE as a fiduciary institution. There was a denial of my loan approval on Amazon, so I let the purchase come out of my Money saving's fund that I had with them. The NP loan status immediately came out of my savings(unauthorized) and when I went back and authorized the amount to be paid by my saving account, it showed up as a duplicate charge to my account. The problem, clearly, being on their end, as a duplicate charge. Amazon never sent me a duplicate order, so clearly Affirm fumbled the ball. Then, when I called them on it a day later, they promised to remove the duplicate charge, advising me to wait 5 days - which they didn't. Then when I came back I got dribbled between 3 separate departments over removing a simple clerical error on their part and returning the $35.07 to my savings! It was MY MONEY to begin with! I immediately withdrew all the money I had in my accounts with them and when it arrives back in my checking account with my fiduciary, I will close my account with them. I will get a much higher APY with other Money management accounts like Wealthfront and Chime(above 4% APY), I don't need Affirms 3.2% APY! Beware these incompetent people working under the guise of financiers!

We're good until they weren't. Don't trust…
I've used this company several times and until December 2025 I hadn't had a problem. I've ordered two things now one the dispute was fine the other they've already charged me for half of it and they're saying it was delivered to my house, but there's no proof that it was delivered to my house. I never received the product. I would not use them again and they'll be lucky if they get any more of my money because if they don't resolve this simple transaction that I never received I will not pay them anymore. I cannot trust them. You shouldn't either.

I purchased a watch with a buy one get one free black friday deal. From a company called velorix which transpired were a company from China. I had used Affirm as I thought this would be a safer option rather than pay upfront and hope the goods turned up. After weeks of waiting with no response from emails to Velorix, I was left with no choice but to contact Affirm. They put the payment on hold and said they would contact the vendor (velorix). Funny enough they found in favour of Velorix as they had despatched the item eventually. When the items arrived they turned out to not be as advertised I.e cheap plastic rubbish basically. I once again contacted Affirm and again they opened a complaint, they asked me for evidence which I supplied even uploading a video of the watches. However again they found in favour of Velorix as they say they delivered the item. Never mind it was cheap rubbish that arrived. I have to pay the money due as it will affect my credit score. It seems to me that this company Affirm will take your money no matter what and are dealing with scammer companies. I would 100% stay ear of both companies. I am absolutely disgusted and surprised that this is the financial arm of shopify. So be very careful and if possible avoid using all 3.

Bought something never received it put in a dispute and showed it wasn't delivered and still made us pay for an item never received. Update i called affirm like asked and all i got was the run around for 10 mins and still no resolution so don't reply if all you're going to do is just play stupid games

I needed to change my contact…
I needed to change my contact information. They have a help page that is supposed to allow you to do it yourself. I tried for weeks to do it on my own and the program just kept looping back to the starting point. I called them. The first time I got a woman who obviously wasn't there to do her job. I tried to explain what I needed and why I couldn't do it myself. She told me she would send me a website to use. She did it was the same one I told her that didn't work. The next time I called I got a woman who did help with one of my Problems but she also said she would send me an email. I never got the email because it was sent to an email address that I no longer have access to instead of the one I had just given her. Then she transferred me to another woman that was suppose to help me change my contact information. I specifically gave her my new phone number and she said she would call me back to verify that it was the right number. No phone call. I've been jumping through their hoops for over a week and it still isn't fixed. My contact information still hasn't Been changed even though I spoke to one of their tech maintenance people last week and he assured me that the info would be changed within 4 days. It's still not changed and I just received another email with another excuse why it couldn't be changed.
I also have a dispute claim pending and now I don't know if anything has even been done or if it was even filed because they're still sending stuff to my old email. No access to it. Just so frustrated and mad as hell because I am paying for something that I never received and don't know if affirm will even do anything about it.

DON’T use Affirm for your installment payments
I often use Shopify for purchases and Affirm is their third-party installments payment platform. Upon making a large purchase with a merchant on Shopify, the merchant never delivered all the items. So if I order something from a merchant and have not received everything, provide proof to Affirm, both visual and written that my items were not delivered.. and Affirm still makes me responsible to make payments on an online order that was not fully shipped to me, without showing any due diligence on Affirm’s part they decided to rule this in favor of the merchant so what does this say? These are customer-last policies. affirm does not care about customers. They’re only worry is to collect money by all means necessary whether fair or unfair so I highly recommend to never ever use Affirm as your installments payment because their customer service is horrendous. They are not showing any due diligence and investigating, nor do they provide any proof for their decision. There should definitely be a no-star option for this horrendous, inexperienced, incompetent, payments company. They’re zero American representation, all you will get is a Philippine boiler room. Nothing actually happens other that a complete waste of time on Affirm’s part. Now Shopify look like complete disgrace for partnering with a third party payment company with 2.7 approval rating. AFFIRM IS GARBAGE… they put customers last, they’re greedy and only pretend to do their due diligence when all they want is to collect.

I’ve used affirm for a couple of years…
I’ve used affirm for a couple of years never had any issues. My card was locked stating I did not have $4.62 in my account. I have multiple accounts connected to my affirm account as well as affirm money on the account. For two days I was transferred multiple times and no one could explain why my card was locked. They have the worse customer service on the planet. If I could give a negative rating I would. Just know if you ever have a problem with your account. If it get resolved at all don’t expect it to be timely

Customer service and payment issue
Their Customer service told me that I'll be eligible for two to of my payments which was done by my bank by mistake on 12 Jan but I have to call one day later after my payment change from processing to processed then they can return the money back. I called next day(today) and then all of a sudden they said that it's not from the day it's turn to processed it's from the day of purchase!!!! They don't even know their own rules and if their customer service is promising me something I need it to happen. Don't use AFFIRM. I highly recommend you pay with your Visa or Master card and then use installments on them. You'll get less interest anyway

Used them to place an order through Tymo Beauty. Finished payment for item that never came. When contacting Affirm concerning this, the concern would never go through sighting "unexpected error, try again later." Now having to get my bank involved to dispute charges and get money back.

They attached to Veneirs and other ghost companies which will send u an 50p item just to have the proof that parcel been sent , when u ask money back thru affirm which is them ghost ally u will face the answer parcel been delivered to your neightbour and lose ur money forever. I’m in love with affirm. I can’t say enough good things about affirm. So super easy and convenient and simple to understand and you can pay early with no penalties and when your in need of something and paying it on your own isn’t an option affirm has your back and then can pay it off later quickly.
Account Hijacking Leading To Improper Deletion
I had my entire account taken over by someone who changed all the information, let it be known I'd used and paid this account off months prior! (AND received my item.) I called them the morning the data breach happened and while they put the account back into my possession, I no longer felt safe using their services, and thus CLOSED. THE. ACCOUNT. That SAME day! So tell me why suddenly I am receiving emails about me disputing charges when I do not have an account (as it has been fully closed). And then just tonight, I recieved a full refund for the items I purchased, even though I -never- disputed any charges PLUS I closed my account. How do they have my payment method if my account was CLOSED? And furthermore, WHO is disputing these charges? I've called customer service TWICE to no avail. It's been a terrible nerve wracking experience that seemingly just WON'T end.

Absolutely absolutely horrible! I bought an item in the beginning of December, when it arrived it was not at all as the description promise, basically garbage. I had the first payment refunded through my bank, and Affirm keeps bugging me for the second payment! I emailed them multiple times to tell them that I’m not paying it yet they won’t stop emailing me with payment request and now it’s hurting my credit!! All they keep doing is telling me that they have received my email and they will be back in touch with me in 72 hours but I’ve never heard anything back

Update: the comment to reach out to your company for assistance is ludicrous. After making my payment today, I tried to start a new dispute. Now, I get a message that says you cannot dispute a charge after 120 and to reach out to the contractor. THE CONTRACTOR HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM SINCE JULY. I reached out to them time and time again with no response, which why I filed the dispute to begin with.
I used affirm to hire a marketing team for my small business. My mistake was not doing due diligence on how Affirm handles disputes. I see now that my issue is a common one.
The team I hired did not do the work. They took my money and did not complete their contract. I provided evidence to the dispute team and within an hour they had settled the dispute in favor of the fraudulent company. There is no way they had time to review the extensive evidence I had sent in that one hour.
I filed a second dispute after I was told that they probably did not see my evidence and that was the reason for the hasty response.
After 3 months, they responded again saying that the dispute was found in the fraudulent company’s favor.
The company could not explain their dispute processes to me, how they review evidence, or what was submitted by the fraudulent company as evidence.
I would NEVER recommend ANYONE use Affirm, and as a business owner, I would never use them for my clients. I will never use them as a consumer, either.
BEWARE! This company protects scammers for profit!
