I had my Frist consultation and I can honestly say the experience was very pleasant, the staff were very respectful and caring and explained everything very clearly

I was so nervous but your team made me feel more relaxed. The procedure went very well as everyone was very friendly but professional.

Both my eyes required cataract removal and lens replacement and it has made a great improvement to my sight. The service, the treatment, the staff at the Aces Wisbech were brilliant. I doubt that I will ever need it done again but if I did it would be my first choice.

My father has cataracts that need to be removed. He also has had a diagnosis of vascular dementia for over 1 year. He had already been seen by another eye specialist in the area but they had discharged him and advised me that because of his vascular dementia and poor cognition that he needed to have the surgery performed whilst under a general anaesthetic. His GP made a mistake referring us to ACES but when booking the appointment with ACES however as I had explained his previous eye specialist experience and why he had been discharged, they should not have taken the booking since they also use only a local anaesthetic. I had specifically asked them the question of the anaesthetic that they use and had been given false assurances. We wasted a month waiting for the appointment and 3 hours traveling to and attending the appointment. Anybody who is living with somebody with vascular dementia will understand how much of an effort it is to attend appointments and all the accident mitigation planning that is required. So being lied to about the lack of general anaesthetic usage is disappointing.

Very satisfied with all the staff. The surgery was quick and painless, the surgeon gave me peace of mind and assurance performed a perfect job.

The only negative was waiting for an appointment. In the end I was offered a cancellation, so had an appointment within 4 months of referral, following a routine, annual eye test and scan.

Everything else about my experience in Chelmsford was overwhelmingly positive.

The reception staff, who also operated the scanning equipment, were very welcoming, efficient, professional and friendly. I had the initial scan within 10 minutes of my requested arrival time. Just a short 10 min wait to then see the retina specialist, who checked and then administered dilating drops, which need to be left for 20 mins to take effect. He was also very personable, professional, informative, friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt like I was in the very best hands. After the 20 min wait I saw the specialist again and he explained the outcome of his findings, had a photo taken of the part of my eye under investigation, and then took time to talk me through the notes that would be going back to my GP. He also confirmed that the outcome should not prevent me undergoing lens replacement surgery, which I specifically asked him about, and he noted this on his findings/ notes to the GP.
This all took me 50 minutes.

When I take my mum to Broomfield for her regular glaucoma checks they often take 2-3 hours, most of which is waiting time.

So I found the appointment itself to be a fantastic service. Thank you.

Cataract surgery went horribly wrong and so referred to the eye clinic at Addenbrookes for them to sort. "Not another one", "latest in a long list of this" emergency surgery to repair damage with further surgery once healed to address vision. Apparently Saturday morning ACEs sources the majority of problems. Officially already in the NHS system for action but that wheel takes ages to turn so we didn't know about the problems. Addenbrookes have to fix things so you are better off going there in the first place, Addenbrookes quoted waiting time is not actually much longer, quicker is opticians sales pitch for their referrals.
ACE Cambridge; Kristina did op, 29 SEP, Pauline sent to Addenbrookes after surgery abandoned when it went wrong, surely you remember? You just texted her to schedule a follow up call (automated schedule I expect) your not really pretending you don't know about this are you? Also I am still waiting for a copy of your complaints procedure and name of your responsible person for complaints.

The experience was awesome. All staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. The service was professional and the premises very clean and welcoming the minute I walked through the door.

My eyes were thoroughly checked, cannot fault the staff at all.

All staff that I met were incredibly friendly and helpful and moreover highly professional. All tests were thoroughly conducted and the subsequent appointment made for surgery was very very quick.
Other NHS managers could do with visiting these clinics to see how it is done professionally.
Overall very impressed with their service.

From initial assessment to surgery made me feel at ease and informed me what was going to happen. It’s only day two after surgery and I am feeling the difference already.

The staff excelled themselves in providing a very professional Service. I was kept informed of what they had to do regarding my Cataract Operation. Admittedly I was in the Clinic for longer than was anticipated "almost 4 hours", but I wasn't surprised as I was the last one on the list of 25. But considering how many people in the Clinic and the speed in which it was one in one out was very surprising. I would recommend Aces for any procedures or operations. Fantastic Job Well done to all the Staff.
