Great experience, I learnt a huge amount

Practical hands on teaching and experience. Provided by skilled and friendly instructors that help and guide whilst you do the work yourself .. excellent setup with tools and equipment all on site .
Highly recommend for all sort of skills including painting and decorating , plastering , plumbing and electrical !

Overall, I was disappointed with both the delivery and content of the course.

The tutor appeared more interested in creating a pseudo-military, barrack-room atmosphere than providing a professional learning environment. While initial demonstrations were given, he would often disappear afterwards, leaving students without the guidance needed to complete practical tasks. When help was requested, it frequently felt as though assisting students was an inconvenience, giving the impression that he was simply going through the motions rather than genuinely wanting to teach.

I also felt the course itself was poorly aligned with the realities of handyman work. There was too little emphasis on the repair, maintenance and remedial tasks that handymen encounter every day, and too much focus on idealised installation exercises.

Overall, I believe the course would be significantly improved with more engaged tuition and a syllabus that better reflects real-world handyman work.

Just completed a week’s course on the Introduction To Bricklaying course with Able Skills. I chose to learn with Able Skills based on the high amount of five star reviews this company received on Trustpilot and I can tell you I was not disappointed after receiving first class tuition and training from Martin, the course leader, who being very knowledgeable and skilled in bricklaying taught me the skills and confidence I’ll need to do the next advanced bricklaying course with Simon who I’m grateful to for extra advice and support when needed. Together, Martin and Simon provided a positive working and learning environment that I was grateful to be a part of over the weeks course and I’m looking forward to learning more bricklaying skills with them on the next course. What I’m very happy with is how much I learnt and how much I enjoyed the course due to Martin and Simon who have given me the confidence to do bricklaying to a high standard. What a great company to train with providing value for money courses that delivers results. Their courses are easy to book online with great email communication from staff providing any and all information needed for the course. I look forward to doing the next course with Able Skills as I really enjoyed the course thanks to Martin and Simon.

The training was average. There were not enough trainers for number of students studying. No handouts for students. Expensive considering the level of training.

I was a bit apprehensive going into electrical training at age 48. Keith, our tutor, was very helpful and broke everything down, so it was easy to remember. I was good with electrical theory but slow with the practical. Keith was there to guide us all the way; he always had time to help, even when we had already asked the same thing three or more times. He really goes the extra mile to make sure we get through and pass. He is also a bit of a showman and keeps you entertained with his singing. I particularly enjoyed his magician like act when he demonstrated how to saw through SWA cable to release the metal splines. A pleasure to train at Ableskills. Steve Finnegan

Andy was a brilliant tutor, very knowledgeable and professional.

Great teaching and good people

I can’t recommend George highly enough as an electrical installation tutor. Thanks to his excellent teaching, support, and patience, I successfully passed both my Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications.

George explains even the most challenging topics in a clear and easy-to-understand way, always taking the time to make sure I fully understood the material. His knowledge of the trade, combined with his practical experience, made the lessons engaging and relevant.

He was always approachable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. His guidance gave me the confidence to develop my skills and achieve my qualifications.

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated electrical installation tutor, I would highly recommend George. Thank you for all your help and support!

I'll like to say that this is a very good institution with a well equipped and have very knowledgeable instructors who will help you through your courses, i fully recommend them

Had a great learning experience at able skills the office staff were extremely helpful in helping me decide which courses to undertake to reach my goal. I chose the gold card electrician route as part of my CPD where I gained a lot of knowledge from my tutors as I progressed through the each of the courses. I also undertook the 2391 inspection and testing course which helped me further my role into the electrical industry. I would highly recommend Able skills to anyone looking to get hands on training in the trades industry the staff are extremely helpful and the tutors a fountain of knowledge.

Thorough and informative

Joe in the plastering course is friendly, best instructor I’ve had in a while that if fully understanding of what people know before the course and helping getting out of habits from other plasterers

I have thoroughly enjoyed the course from start to finish. My instructor, Steve Peters, is an absolute expert in his field—he's an "electrical Jesus"! His knowledge is outstanding, and he goes into every detail, explaining everything clearly and patiently until everyone understands.

I can't thank Steve enough for the support and guidance he gave us throughout electrical gold card journey. His teaching style made learning enjoyable and gave me the confidence to develop my skills.

I also want to thank Able Skills for providing such a professional and supportive learning environment. I genuinely loved my time there and would highly recommend Able Skills to anyone looking to pursue a career in the electrical industry.

Top quality training and tutor. Covered a lot of ground in a short space of time. Very happy with what I have learned in a week and have gained confidence.

Doesn’t assist properly especially those who are back and not friendly bit grumpy .

Andy was great, made me feel very relaxed and very knowledgeable
