The Office of Student Accessibility at Pepperdine University is pleased to recommend Aberdeen Broadcast Services. Aberdeen provides real-time captioning using professional stenographers for Pepperdine. Live captions and audio are seamlessly integrated through our designated captioning encoder or digital platform. Their captioners consistently deliver outstanding accuracy—guaranteed at 98% or higher—while transcribing speech at approximately 200 words per minute. To support this level of quality, we work collaboratively by ensuring clear audio, organized speaking, and providing preparatory materials such as syllabi and session outlines.

Most of our captioning hours have been dedicated to supporting a hard-of-hearing student in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, with the CART providers offering both onsite and remote services depending on the setup. Throughout our partnership, Aberdeen’s customer service has been excellent. Their team is responsive, professional, and accommodating to our scheduling needs.

Our students simply complete a CART/Captioning Request form with class or meeting details, and Aberdeen efficiently arranges the captioner. The students who have used their services have expressed high satisfaction with the accuracy, timeliness, and overall experience.

Working with the folks at Aberdeen to find an affordable Closed Captioning solution has been a pleasure and their customer service is second to none. From the first day I requested information they were quick to respond and were eager to provide an exact-fit solution for my live captioning needs. I work for a broadcast company where we process hundreds of thousands of pieces of digital media annually. We work with many companies that transcode, caption, and deliver media via automation. Tony Baltayan was my initial contact person and he made me feel completely confident that ABS would not only be capable of handling and accommodating my needs but also made me feel like a valued customer.
Once Tony had all of my information he initiated and oversaw the ABS team in order to execute what I needed done... He then assigned David Shiroma as my account manager who kept me posted and up to date every step of the way until and after my show was delivered and approved by the receiving tv station.

Aberdeen is a great partner in the distribution of our syndicated shows. We were using only tape based distribution before Aberdeen came in and gave us more options for the captioning and distribution in file based formats. There were very helpful in easing us into the modern world of file based distribution by setting up a workflow that included shows on tape and file. Our current workflow is based on Aberdeen specifications for file distribution. It works very well in distribution of 7 different weekly shows. We couldn't do it without Aberdeen's expertise.
