Sytner Group - Sytner Select Northampton Anmeldelser 

I bought a car from Sytner Select Warrington in May, and it has been one of the most stressful experiences I have ever had. The vehicle developed a gearbox/vehicle electronics fault and repeatedly went into limp mode. I spent months being passed between the Warrington and Northampton branches, with poor communication and having to constantly chase for updates myself.

Northampton initially found multiple fault codes during their own diagnostics and referred the car to a gearbox specialist. Despite extensive investigations, I was repeatedly told no fault could be found. However, when I attended Northampton to collect the vehicle after being told it was ready, a vehicle electronics fault warning appeared almost immediately after moving the car a short distance. A member of staff witnessed the warning themselves.

Although I appreciate that Northampton continued investigating the vehicle and eventually agreed to resolve the matter, the overall customer experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of communication, conflicting information, and the amount of chasing I had to do caused me unnecessary stress and anxiety over several months.

In the end, Sytner accepted the return of the vehicle and refunded my deposit, which I appreciate. However, I would not expect a customer to go through months of uncertainty to reach that outcome. I hope Sytner improves its communication and complaint handling so that other customers do not have the same experience.

Amazing service from Dragos, he was very polite and patient with me and my family. Dragos was very informative about the vehicles that Sytner have in stock and helped me choose the best vehicle for me and my family. I would strongly recommend buying a vehicle from Sytner and asking for Dragos.

Jonathan ans Euan were both very helpful, communicated a positive arritude and gave genuine reassurance about the transfer of ownership.

This contrasted with other dealers we visited where the sales people didn't show a lot of interest in trying to sell a car.

On 16 July, I paid a holding deposit to reserve a vehicle and expected it to be held for me. Since then, I have received no updates and no callbacks despite contacting the dealership three to four times.

Each time I called, I was told that Jonathan was either off work, unavailable, or with another customer. On one occasion, I was told he was with a client and would call me back, but he never did.

Eventually, I spoke to another member of staff, who informed me that on 20th July, another customer had applied for finance and the vehicle had been reserved and sold to them, despite the fact that I had already paid my holding deposit on 16th July. At no point was I informed of this or contacted by Jonathan.

On 27th July, I emailed the Branch Manager and copied Jonathan into the email, setting out my concerns and requesting a response. To date, I have received no reply.

It has now been almost three weeks, and I have still received no proper update or explanation. To make matters worse, my holding deposit has still not been refunded.

This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. I have wasted valuable time chasing updates while being led to believe my purchase was progressing. I had planned to use this vehicle for a family holiday to Spain next week, with hotels already booked, and I am now left without a car. In the meantime, the other Tesla Model X vehicles I had been considering have also been sold, leaving me with no option but to start my search again.

I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and the way this situation has been handled.

We’ve been looking for a used car and ended up over at Sytner - Northampton. We worked with Justyna, she was great to work with, very professional but also friendly and warm but not too pushy or salesey! She kept us updated, understood what we wanted, the budget and timeframes - she provided us with plenty of options and information etc. We’d definitely recommend speaking to this garage and in particular with Justyna 🙌

Euan and Lloyd were knowledgeable, pleasant and didn't try the hard sell (although they did inform us of all our options!).

Purchased a car from Sytner Select Northampton and reported multiple faults within 2 days of collection, including an incorrectly fitted rain sensor, incorrectly fitted wing mirror, faulty powered boot caused by a damaged wire, sticking seat mechanism, and concerns about the service history and brakes. Sytner later admitted these faults existed after inspecting the vehicle.

Despite repeated requests for help, my emails were ignored, promised callbacks never happened, and no courtesy car was provided. I exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle within 30 days, but Sytner refused.

The biggest impact has been on my relative, a Community Nurse, who has been left without a car to travel between patients while this dispute continues.

Very disappointing customer service, poor vehicle preparation, and a stressful experience from start to finish.
CarShop had built a poor reputation with many customers, so it’s hard not to wonder whether the rebrand to Sytner Select was an attempt to distance itself from that reputation rather than address the underlying customer service issues.
I would avoid because they are cowboy traders and don’t even follow the trading standards or the law.
They will comment under customers reviews saying “We sincerely apologise for the disappointing experience you have described. This is certainly not the standard of service we aim to provide.” Still same standards as when they were carshop nothing has changed. People work hard to purchase the cars last thing one needs is a faulty and dangerous car.

Everyone was very accommodating, we did not feel rushed or pressured & Matt made sure to explain everything thoroughly

Tyreke was very helpful with helping my friend to buy a car we was going to look somewhere else but his service was great so didn’t see the point in going anywhere else. I will be coming here to buy my next car.
