VALUE is mentioned a lot in Lidl ads.
But where is the value in oranges and tangerines that are so dry as to be inedible.
Or peaches that never "ripen at home". Ditto mangos and avocados.
Or rotten fruit and veg hidden in wrapping.
Or eggs that break at the touch.
So much for VALUE.

Tottenham Court Road branch are failing to provide trolleys for persons doing large shops. This is consistent even after raising this with staff.

Considering this is a recently opened store it has become grubby very quickly. Please clean your shopping baskets they are disgusting. SALISBURY Churchill Way West. Will not be coming back

I have bought two packets of 1KG Kavanaugh Organic Porridge Oats from Lidl in the past. I made up the oats as a breakfast cereal in the normal way only to find that the meal tasted very strongly of mould. I would advise people not to buy these oats as mould can travel to the heart and lungs in humans and cause fatal diseases. I am asking Lidl and Aldi to recall and test Kavanaugh Oats as a matter of urgency. Goods of such a low quality should not be being offered for purchase by two very reputable food companies.

Multiple transactions taken from my bank
I shopped at Lidl merry hill branch today, and the checkout girl was having a conversation with someone else and not concentrating. I tapped my card when told and it didn't go through so she told me to put card in machine. Took some time whilst she pressed various buttons and eventually the transaction was taken. On getting home and checking my bank 7 payments had been taken from my account for the same amount. I called my bank and they assure me that these payments will eventually be reversed but may take up to 20 days. This is quite a lot of money that I don't now have in my bank. I spent the next hour trying to speak to a human at Lidl customer care, who was as little help as the phone bots you have to navigate past. He didn't offer to take tel number or my name and I could tell nothing would be done their end to sort the problem. My bank confirmed that this was an error at Lidl, but Lidl basically couldn't give a damn.
Last time I'll be using Lidl.

I got followed and harrased by a security guard and another staff member. Lidl balmore rd Glasgow. He followed me the whole time I did my shopping then himself and another member stood and watched me at the checkout paying. When finished he come over and stood beside me while I fixed my bags. I confronted him to ask why and he told me in broken English while pointing in my face he didn’t and it’s his job to follow people. Can’t get a contact with management to complain. It’s absolutely unacceptable behaviour.

Again for 3rd or 4th time the alarm goes off when leaving shop after buying meat. security guard then wants to go thru your bag touching all your food. Again I asked for the manager who gave me the same rubbish excuse about their self service not working properly. So they don't mind you being HUMILIATED rather than fix their faulty machines or employ cashiers. Will not be giving them my money ever again. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

I emailed customer services to claim on the warranty for a faulty pair of Parkside electric secateurs. It took 4 emails to get any resolution and took over a week! I was made to feel like a fraudster. "We need to investigate the matter". Investigate what? The secateurs don't work. They have a 36 month warranty. What exactly is the problem? This coupled with the new awful Lidl points scheme has made me question whether I want to continue to shop at Lidl. Absolutely shocking experience from start to finish.

Got up early this morning to visit my local lidl in selby to purchase an item from their leaflet that was arriving on sale that day. Sought help when I could not find any stock.The shop floor staff were very helpful and also called the manager who said there was none and hadn't been any stock of this item.I tried to say to him I had travelled a long distance specifically to buy this purchase.He was very curt and said 'this is nothing to do with me'.I am over 70 and left the store very upset with the mis-advertising and the lack of customer service.

Lidl charging stations are very unreliable, in the space of 2 days I have visited 2 different Lidl charging locations, the first one was in Bishops Stortford - £40 taken as pre-authorisation which they can hold on to for a week if it's done via the Lidl app, but up to 4 weeks if done with a credit or debit card if you are unable to get charge. So last night I had one preauthorisation taken and today I went to Laindon and was faced with one that did not release the charger - 40 quid held and then on the second charger, it just didn't fire up, the app just kept spinning around - how frustrating... another 40 quid taken... so now Lidl has £120 of my money... should it not be instant refunds or maybe the a process improvement where the store can refund you directly should be explored.... with somebody who is rushing around all day every day how can you keep a track of all these failures, the whole structure is just not well thought through I'm afraid.

Avoid Lidl Goole – Completely Disgraceful Experience
If I could give this store zero stars, I would. Shopping at Lidl Goole felt less like a modern supermarket experience and more like surviving a bleak, post-war rationing exercise.
The staff at the checkout couldn't be bothered if they tried. The guy running the lane—specifically the one with the beard—was literally half-a-sleep and showed absolutely zero interest in helping or acknowledging customers. But being completely disengaged isn't even the worst part: his total lack of basic food safety knowledge is actively dangerous.
He nonchalantly packed chemical household cleaners—soaps, bleach, and kitchen sprays—directly in with fresh food items. A primary school child knows that you never put toxic chemicals next to consumable food, yet this guy passed them right through together without a second thought. It is completely pathetic, hazardous, and unacceptable.
Lidl Goole is an absolute disgrace to basic customer service and food handling standards. Management needs to wake up, pull their staff together, and actually train them on elementary hygiene before somebody gets poisoned. Save yourself the headache and safety risk—shop somewhere else.!!!!!

Things getting worse regarding stock. A supermarket that only has fat free greek style yoghurt?? Alcohol free only bottles no cans! Been like this for awhile now. Don't stock soda water...list goes on. Only self serve checkout available but when challenged had to finish emptying boxes first. Then like magic 3 members of staff appeared if only to converse with each other. Not sure when I'll be back not worth it!! Now going elsewhere to finish my shopping. Not good enough Lidl

I was impressed with the variety and pricing of the fresh fruit and vegetables. However I bought a bottle of Baxters baby beetroot 2 days ago. When I ate the beetroot today it was very soft, lacked any texture and the vinegar was very bitter, hitting the back of my throat, causing me to cough and as the beetroot went down my gullet there was a powerful. burning sensation.
To my shock when I read the use by date it was October 2021, just 5 years out of date.
I tried to make a complaint via their customer services I found it impossible to navigate having made quite a few attempts.
Any advice would be welcome

Parked in the car park ! Entered my number as requested but still got a ticket ! Have appealed but why do Lidl outsource and penalise customers for shopping with them !

Walworth road Lidl -Last night we waited from near the entrance to the exit to pay ? when I asked for the manager and suggested maybe he go along the line an apologies and explain he said its not my fault -weve taken away 2 till and a re closing ealry ? Listen to your customers and take responsiblitly a smile and a sorry goes a long way.... -we need smaller trolleys and less self service -they dont work and i dont get paid to pack my own groceries .... the store is too small to restock at the buseist times also -this is a trip hazard and make the place look terrible .. I also dont want to be yelled at which selfservise to use... im a custo,er not a contestant...

What a stroppy checkout named Clare won't be going in that Lidl again

Other leading stores. The jams are watery and not cheap! Coffee is not strong so not cost effective. Coldly deluxe is tough!
