Check that the fireplace you are looking at on the website is actually what you are buying.
I needed to buy a new gas fire for my lounge. I found Direct Fireplaces website, and on it a picture of a Verine Orbis Plus Slide Control Fire with Athena Fret. There were no options for the type of fret on the order form, so expected the fire to look like the one in the picture. I contacted the firm and was told that the fret on the picture was a Bauhaus Fret, and would cost an additional £85 to change it. I spoke to Trading Standards who informed me that this was misrepresentation as the picture shown did not show the described fireplace, and it should be changed at no cost to myself. I was in contact with Nick JG at customer services who has been excellent dealing with my problem, and through his help and assistance a Bauhaus Fret has been delivered to me, which leaves the fire looking as I intended it to, and I am very pleased with the end result.

It looks like you placed this order via a Special Offer product listing (these may be advertised in the event of an unopened return or similar at a reduced price). The likelihood is that the web team listed this special item with an image of a different fret out of human error, and that there was subsequent miscommunication with our customer service team regarding which fret should have been received as standard.

Happy with overall service
Happy with overall service, installation was rearranged numerous times due to manufacturing issue.then a hiccup on installation but that was sorted by gas engineer. On the whole very happy with my new fire and surround.

The showroom experience and ordering and fitting…
The showroom experience and ordering with Dylan was seamless and he was extremely helpful in helping us get the best fireplace and fire combo to suit our needs. Post ordering the fireplace & fire fitting was very efficiently organised by Karen. The only disappointment was that the fitting by Jacob Marsden appears to be OK however he failed to leave us with the serial number for the fire and fobbed me off when I asked - saying it was behind the fire trim. This meant I couldn't register for the extended warranty. It of course as I thought would be on a plate at the back of the fire. Dylan sorted out with evonic that we could do it with 0000 as the serial number and we have now registered. The only other choice would have been to pull the fire out and look on the back. I wasn't going to do that but Jacob could have offered to call and do that to correct his error.

It's great to hear that the service received both from Dylan in our showroom team and Karen at Direct Heating Services was so helpful.
We're sorry for any confusion regarding the warranty registration. The installer is not employed through ourselves and is instead subcontracted through Direct Heating Services' fitting team. While the fitters are generally very knowledgeable regarding popular product lines such as Evonic, they won't necessarily have the same product knowledge in terms of specific items compared to our sales team. A number of inset electric fires do have the serial number displayed underneath the trim or visibly on the inside of the fire when installed, which may be why there was confusion in this instance.

the fir seround was perfect but deliverd left out side told he could not bring indoors we are both 78 had to get help marble we could not move it . fire also perfect aparpart from nob missing still wating . but still love it.

It's good to hear that you have been impressed with the fire surround and we are sorry for any inconvenience relating to the delivery. As per the information on our website, our free standard delivery is a one-man service and the courier is therefore unable to carry items into the property.
For future reference, we do offer an upgraded two-man service for certain items and our sales team is always happy to advise where customers may need to query delivery options ahead of purchase.

Direct Fireplaces were extremely informative and helpful
Direct Fireplaces were extremely helpful, they gave me the detailed measurements of my chosen fire surround and the detailed measurements of the granite component to finish off the fire surround and their price was very reasonable. They were very helpful when I needed to change the delivery date at short notice. It’s a pity that I did not have a conventional fire place so I could also have their cast iron fireplace insert.
