I worked with Hockeys in Cambridge to sell our 4-bed house which is located in CB1. We initially worked with 2 other agents who were unable to sell our property after 1.5 years so we asked Hockeys to help. Philip was so helpful with finding the right strategy to get buyers through the door, and Liam was our main agent who was highly communicative and reassuring to work with. As it was stressful sale, due to the difficult market and personal challenges, Liam was extremely understanding, helpful and was able to get us through and over the line. The property was sold above asking price, and I can't stress enough how happy I am that we chose to work with Hockeys. Thank you so much.

We had a very disappointing experience with Hockeys Cambridge when buying a property.

After our offer was accepted, we discovered that the freehold boundary and ownership position had been changed, and that the seller had transferred part of the land to the neighbouring property.

We had not received any formal notification or documentation from Hockeys informing us that the freehold boundary or ownership would be changed. The official Offer Acceptance and Sales Memorandum provided by Hockeys also contained no reference to this.

We contacted the estate agent several times because we had questions and wanted to understand what was happening. However, we waited for over a month without receiving clear answers. It was only later, after repeatedly asking for clarification, that we became aware of the actual ownership transfer.

As buyers, we found this extremely disappointing and concerning. We were proceeding with a property purchase and had already incurred survey and legal costs, yet we did not receive the clear information we needed regarding a material change to the property’s freehold boundary and ownership.

We have now formally withdrawn from the purchase and submitted a formal complaint to Hockeys regarding how this matter was handled.

The experience has caused us to completely lose confidence in both the transaction and Hockeys Cambridge.

We are sharing our experience to help other buyers. If you are purchasing a property through Hockeys Cambridge, we would strongly recommend making sure that any questions concerning the property’s boundary or ownership are clearly answered and formally documented before proceeding.
