For the most part it was extremely easy. However, they gave me a quote instantly and then when I accepted that quote they then wanted further information and photographs of the vehicle and then quoted me a lower amount by $900. I find it extremely disgusting and unethical that they would offer me a price instantly and then not honor it.
The vehicle was in immaculate condition but the transmission blew out and the miles on it were not worth fixing it which was annotated in the first request for a quote so I don't know why the price changed based on well cleaned and maintained interior and exterior with kept paint and leather.

No Real Humans at CashForCars
Not convinced that anyone works for this company. I used the website to get an offer for my car and tried to schedule a pickup. Instead of being able to choose a pickup time, they provided the window of the entire next day. I used 3 different numbers to try to get ahold of someone, and after multiple hours of sitting on hold or getting hung up on before anyone said 'Hi', I had to leave. I started getting harassed by the tow truck driver in the middle of the day, who has been calling and texting me for hours.
Bait and switch
I contacted CashForCars.com about selling my 2014 Nissan Altima. They initially told me they would pay $400, which seemed fair given the car’s condition. However, when it came time to finalize, they suddenly claimed the car was “trash” and said they’d “do me a favor” by offering only $50 to take it off my hands.
This bait‑and‑switch approach wasted my time and felt insulting. If a company can’t stand by its own quoted offer, it shows a lack of honesty and professionalism. I would not recommend trusting their valuations or promises. I ended up selling it to them out of desperation and they knew it. I regret it.
Seller Beware
I reached out to this company aka Copart Direct regarding my vehicle. They made the offer and transferred me to another department to arrange pickup and provided the lot number. I called and left a message. There was some back and forth missing each other but every time I called I had to provide ALL the information again, including pickup location. In the interim after scheduling, I learned that I could get more than what they’re offering for my vehicle so I called Cashforcars and canceled. They provided the towing company’s contact info, I called and confirmed cancellation with them. A day or two later I get a call from the repair show that stores my car and they advised Cooper Towing company was there to tow my vehicle and asked for the keys. No payment had been provided. I received a call again today from CoPart asking if still wanted to sell my car to them. I shared the above information and how shady that business transaction appears to be and she apologized and said that the offer wasn’t closed and she’s going by the notes she sees. Asked her what does her notes say and she refused to provide the details. Those are the facts. I received over $200 more than what they offered. I would’ve very careful with this company.
Never again!
This process has, by far, been a frustrating and confusing week of our lives. Talking to no less than 5 representatives (all of which seem to be in a call center) and emailing with 3 different representatives. Calls include language barriers, poor headphone/mics (you can hear other people talking, so you don't know who is talking to you) and having multiple representatives calling us with the same exact questions. We sold the vehicle through this service, as we thought it would be the easiest process, this turned out not be the case. We were provided from a CashforCars representative, a guide to endorse the title and then told we did it wrong and had to sign yet another form! When/if we ever have another vehicle to sell, it will not be with this company.

I filled out a short questionnaire on this company's website. I received a very very low offer for my 2000 BMW csi Classic car. Convertible, one owner, 122072 miles, original window sticker, all original manuals, looks new. Then a guy named Hector called me. He was very condescending and rude. He doesn't know what he is talking about! I have spoken to 2 active Classic car dealers and was told what my car is worth! When I told this to Hector, he said and I have Hannah Montana memorabilia! This company is nuts. Website says 40 years' experience but only 5 reviews on their website (that should tell you something). Seller beware!
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. I see a lot of US reviews on here, I’m from the UK, it looks like their scam has gone international. How can a reputable company like Copart allow this to happen under their umbrella?
They quoted me online and sent me an email. The email said, “Sold! Thank you for choosing us. Thanks for accepting our valuation, we'll give you a call from a 01383 number to arrange pick up or drop off of your vehicle.”
Straight away the wording implies that they have accepted the offer, gave the virtual ‘sold’ handshake and the job is done.
I got a call the next day and a few questions were asked about the vehicle. The price was dropped from £207 down to £125 because an engine warning light was on the dashboard. Remember: THIS IS A SCRAP VEHICLE SERVICE. The whole thing is a scam designed to reel people in and then rip them off.
I don’t blame the call handler personally, they are just doing a job, however, I never understand people who don’t walk away from businesses that are blatantly scamming people. No moral compass.
Avoid at all costs and read some of the positive reviews on here with a keen eye. What some people are saying in the positive reviews just doesn’t ring true. “They called back and offered more than market value”… erm! no they didn’t… fake reviews.
What a disappointment
What a disappointment. I chose to sell my car with CashForCars as they are a subsidiary of CoPart - a reputable company. The quote that was offered when I entered my details was acceptable. I received a call the following day. I spoke with Alexander. It's worth noting that, at this point, neither the confirmation email to accept the quote nor Alexander pointed out that the amount was a maximum price to be paid. I was led to believe that the stated amount was the amount I would receive. Alexander had no rapport whatsoever; they read from a script, and the call felt uncomfortable. I gave all the details asked for and all the extra information about the car that I hadn't had the opportunity to upload. There was A LOT of additional information. I was called back and offered 25% less than first stated. When I questioned this, I was told that the amount was set and I could take it or leave it. I obviously left it.
Since this call, in the space of 48 hours, I have received 6 emails and 4 additional phone calls asking why I wasn't going ahead and that no one else would offer more.
I feel misled and now harassed. Not a service I would even consider in the future.

Lots of MISCOMMUNICATION during the pickup scheduling and pickup. When switched to dispatch, I was told on Friday morning that they were going to try to pick up same day. After waiting for the call for 5 hours there was no call. When I called back I was on hold forever and nobody EVER picked up. I had told dispatch Monday was NO GOOD for me and Tuesday was the day. The tow truck showed up Monday anyway. No calls to me, and very unprofessional and disappointing.
Rude and useless company
This is a stupid company that disrespects truckers and makes them wait the entire day. After waiting a full day, they finally unload the driver, and then they make them wait another 10 hours just for paperwork. Keep in mind, after all this, they don’t pay detention or layover either. They make excuses like, “It’s your fault, we called you and you didn’t pick up,” or come up with other reasons to avoid paying.
I request all my truckers brothers: if any broker offers you a load delivering to this facility, please avoid it, especially after knowing their history.

They were very professional and so fast through the entire process of selling them my car. I would work with them again any time.
Unreliable pickup process and non-existent communication
I scheduled a vehicle pickup with CashForCars for a specific weekday. I was told I would receive a phone call with a narrower timeframe within their broad 8 AM – 5 PM window. By 12 PM, no one had called. I reached out to customer support twice to get an update, only to receive zero information and no promised callbacks.
Their offer was competitive, but their execution and customer support are completely lacking. Do not rely on them if you value your time—competitors like Peddle match their offers and actually respect scheduling.

Wanted me to sign the title and send them a picture of it before they would come pick up the car. I told them no and they told me I don’t know how this works.
Great Experience....Copart made this so easy
Everyone I dealt with was helpful and pleasant. I am hard to reach because of my business, Josh went above and beyond making this convenient for me. Carli and the driver at Ernie's towing were terrific as well.

Interesting reading the reviews after I sold my car. I might have been more skeptical if I had read them first but my experience was a lot better than others have faced. Starting off, I did the thing where you put the car and photos on the site and get a preliminary offer. Received a call from Josh Novare and he talked about the vehicle with me, what was wrong and why I was selling it. The first price he quoted was less than online, I said no go, so then he comes back and gets me more than the online price. Other than that everything worked out as discussed except the tow driver was an hour and half past the window given making us wait around.
Was hesitant but worked out great
Was hesitant to pick cashforcars based on other review sites. They gave a good initial offer comparable to other major sites. Their form was more comprehensive than most other sites and allowed for some expanded explanations. They followed up by phone for some clarifications and requested photos for verification of condition. After that they actually INCREASED their offer. The rest of the process was a little scary since I never had to do this before but was painless. The driver was dispatched and picked up on the scheduled day (even though "scheduled" day is a 24-48 hr windows). Driver wrote out the check for the correct amount and took the car away. Great service.
